In cosmetic, the different fillers are used, that can be divided into two groups: synthetic biocompatible fillers and extenders.

For synthetic fillers a liquid silicone is used. This filler in cosmetics has started to apply in 1960. For cosmetic purposes the microparticle suspension liquid silicone is perfect because of a high degree of purification. A distinctive feature of silicone is its quality not to get decomposed and dissolved, but under the influence of oxygen there is still a risk of destruction and displacement of its parts under the skin.

The peculiarity of the silicone filler is its incompatibility with other fillers, so if it has been already used for the correction of wrinkles other fillers cannot be injected.

For the correction of deep wrinkles and nasolabial folds the products based on polyacrylamide are used as the fillers. This artificial filler contains more water, which in the tissue is replaced by tissue fluid. This filling is well combined with human tissues and provides a lasting effect, but it needs to be injected into the deeper layers of the skin.

Collagen is used as biocompatible filler. This substance is a part of skin and provides elasticity and firmness. Over the years the collagen loses these abilities that can be explained by the aging of the skin. Collagen injections are used in cosmetology for the correction of wrinkles and skin roughness. Collagen is get out of the skins and cartilage of the cattle and from marine shellfish and crustaceans. But before the injection of collagen it is necessary to make to test for an allergic reaction.

Lipofillers stand apart in a series of biocompatible fillers used in cosmetology. Fat is taken from the patient’s body by liposuction. After special treatment, it is entered into certain areas of the face. Lipofilling is used to increase the amount of losses (for example, in the jaw, cheeks), for the lip augmentation. Lipofilling correction is used for chest, buttocks and legs.
