This type of breast reduction is rather traumatic, often have problems with acceptability of areolas, breast-feeding will be excluded; the sensitivity of the nipples will be absent. Experienced plastic surgeons try to avoid this method, using sparer breast reduction techniques.

Breast Reduction is an operation in which the excess part of adipose tissue is removed from the breast, attached to a slightly different form, and the nipples are shifted to a new position. Simultaneously, breast reduction may be accompanied by a decrease in size of the areolas, and configured to a smaller chest. To carry out breast reduction surgery there are different methods. After any surgery breast reduction there is a seam around the areola breast. After a surgery, sutures may remain different forms, depending on technique chosen by surgeon for breast reduction. At the same plastic surgeon the best option for the operation of each individual case is selected. Breast reduction can be applied to correct the asymmetry, when one breast is much larger than the other one. In such cases, surgery may be combined with other techniques, such as breast lift, or an increase in the opposite direction.
